The Workforce Development program offers a variety of programs designed to help Club members in several important ways:
Members get to learn about various career fields, discovering what kinds of jobs might interest them. This helps them start thinking about their future careers.
The program focuses on teaching valuable soft skills, which are essential for success in any job. These skills include things like effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management. Learning these skills makes Club members more well-rounded and ready for the workplace.
The program also assists members in cultivating specific skills that employers seek. This could encompass areas such as computer skills, customer service aptitude, or technical proficiencies pertinent to specific roles. Acquiring these skills enhances their appeal to potential employers.
Florida Training Services*: Registered apprenticeship programs are a great way to start exploring careers in construction. These programs cover basic tools and materials, offer an overview of each trade, the qualifications and skills needed for each trade and on-the-job training, and related instruction. BGCMC is proud to partner with Florida Training Services, Inc. (FTS) who provide apprenticeship consulting throughout Florida by working with industries/organizations to help them enhance or create registered apprenticeship programs. They assist in program development, management, and administration using known and proven registered apprenticeship standards and curriculum from the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER). Upon successful completion, each participant will earn an industry recognized registered apprenticeship certification. Afterward, they can select a specific trade (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC) for further advanced training and certifications.

Transfer VR: Career Exploration and Virtual Training Training -Using Oculus VR headsets, Transfr's simulations offer more than 30 dynamic virtual career exploration experiences, followed by over 280 training courses. These simulations cover various occupations across multiple industries, such as automotive, advanced manufacturing, construction, public safety, skilled trades, warehousing, logistics, and hospitality and tourism. The VR programming aims to elevate career preparation by immersing members in real job scenarios, enabling them to explore a wide range of job options.
TRUST Certification: Our TRUST Certification class provides a beginner-friendly introduction to drone piloting, designed for recreational drone operators. The TRUST certification, mandated by law, serves as a recreational pilot license for safe and compliant drone use. This class is open to Club members from 4th grade and up, teaching essential rules, regulations, and safety practices for responsible drone operation. After successfully completing the test and earning their TRUST certification, participants will receive a recreational pilot license. To enhance the experience, members can take to the skies with a DJI Tello drone, equipped with a front-facing camera and GPS for smoother, controlled flights. The class runs for about an hour and is limited to a maximum of six students per session, ensuring personalized attention and adequate flight time for each participant.
Part 107: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 Course is an essential steppingstone for individuals looking to enter the exciting and rapidly expanding field of drone operations. This comprehensive program is designed to prepare participants to earn their FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, which is required for legally piloting drones for commercial purposes in the United States. Participants will gain a solid foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical applications. The course includes: Introduction to Drones and Regulations: Overview of drone technology, types of drones, and their uses. Understanding the FAA's Part 107 rules, compliance requirements, and certification process. Airspace and Weather: Navigating the National Airspace System (NAS) and identifying no-fly zones. Interpreting weather data critical for safe drone operations. Loading and Performance: Understanding how payloads, battery life, and environmental factors affect drone performance. Strategies for safe and efficient drone operation. Operations and Industry Applications: Hands-on training for drone piloting and mission planning. Case studies on how drones are used in various sectors like surveying, photography, and emergency response. This course not only equips participants with the knowledge to pass the FAA Part 107 exam but also provides practical insights and skills to excel in a competitive field.
Youth Culinary: Members participate in a comprehensive training program that covers the essential aspects of the hospitality and food service industry. Upon completing the training, they undergo the state-required Food Handlers' Certification exam, covering topics such as sanitization practices, knife skills, food handling, and cooking techniques. Following successful completion, members become eligible to work on the food truck and catering events. Moreover, those aged over 16 can take up the role of a Jr. Sous Chef in the commercial kitchen.
Adult Culinary: Martin County residents aged 18 years or older, aspiring to pursue a culinary career or advance their current culinary employment, can benefit from the free training program. Graduates of this program will obtain the following certifications: Level 1 - Food Handler's Certification, Level 2 - American Hotel & Lodging Association Foundation Line Cook Certification, or Level 3 - Food Protection Manager.
Manufacturing 4.0 is a comprehensive, industry-focused training program crafted by experts to equip participants with practical, hands-on experience in essential electrical and mechanical skills. It is specifically designed to prepare young adults aged 16 to 24 for successful careers in modern manufacturing and to pass the Smart Automation Certification Association (SACA) Basic Operations exam. Participants in this program will gain foundational knowledge and practical skills in key areas such as:

Residential Electrical Wiring: Understand and practice the fundamentals of home electrical systems.
AC and DC Electrical Systems: Learn about alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC), their principles, and their applications.
