The Workforce Development program is meticulously designed to nurture essential employment skills among our youth. By embracing research-backed strategies in youth development, offering comprehensive training, and providing hands-on learning chances, the program aims to foster readiness for first jobs while setting a clear course towards achieving meaningful careers. This approach significantly enhances members employability through a diverse range of avenues, encompassing career exploration, acquiring valuable credentials, refining soft skills, mastering technical skills, and gaining invaluable career experiences.
Our Workforce Development initiative has a primary goal: to ensure that every young individual has equal access to resources and career opportunities after graduation. At Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County, we empower kids and teens to:

- Discover their interests and passions through Career Exploration

- Expand their knowledge through skill development and certification opportunities

- Apply their freshly acquired skills through real-world work-based learning experiences.
The Workforce Development program offers a variety of programs designed to help Club members in several important ways:
Career Exploration
Members get to learn about various career fields, discovering what kinds of jobs might interest them. This helps them start thinking about their future careers.

Soft Skills
The program focuses on teaching valuable soft skills, which are essential for success in any job. These skills include things like effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management. Learning these skills makes Club members more well-rounded and ready for the workplace.

Employable Skills
The program also assists members in cultivating specific skills that employers seek. This could encompass areas such as computer skills, customer service aptitude, or technical proficiencies pertinent to specific roles. Acquiring these skills enhances their appeal to potential employers.
